Tick Plier, (UNI-5751)
Price: $8.30
Description: The difficulty in removing a tick is that if the instrument used squeezed the tick's body, the saliva will be injected into the blood stream with its soup of germs. Ticks don't bite and don't even have teeth. Instead, their mouth parts consist of a trowell shaped lower jaw and 2 slender arms covered with barbs which they use to dig through the skin and drink the blood. However because blood is too thick, ticks secrete a saliva to thin it, and it is this saliva that carries germs and transmits lyme disease.
